Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes

Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes

In class in our literacy groups we have been reading Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes witch is a sad and at the same time happy book.

Sadako is a running champion who lives in Japan, and every year she and her family go to a carnival to remember those who died from a disease called "leukaemia" atom bomb.

She is very excited as she is going to a special race to get into the junior running team, that is when the dizzy spells started she tried to ignore it and started running.she couldn't feel it  anything that is when she heard her mother say "you got in Sadako".

Relate:

Text-Self: I can relate to when Sadako had the dizzy spells, because I had one once when I went to the cross country because I was on low sugar levels.

Text-Self: I can relate to Sadako making the paper cranes, because in year four we made origami and I made a paper crane.

Text-Text: I have read a book about japan and it talked about origami.

Reflect:

Why did you choose to tell this true story?
Did you choose to write this book to celebrate 25 years?

Review:

So far this is a very sad book about a true story it warms your heart about the paper crane a good luck sign and Sadako has a lot of hope to get better form her disease. I have not got to the end yet and i am excited about it.

Thank you for reading my blog abut Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. :D
