Sadako and the thousand paper cranes -Emily Prevett

Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes

In class we have been doing literacy groups we have been reading sadako and the thousand paper cranes witch is a sad and also happy book.

Retell:

Sadako is a running champion in japan, every year her family goes to a festival to on a day called peace day to remember those people who died from a disease called "leukemia"atom bomb. Sadako is very excited as she is going to a special race to get into the junior running team but while shes running she starts to feel really dizzy but she ignores the dizziness.

Relate:

Text-Text :I can relate to Sadako making paper, because in year four we made origami and i made a paper crane.
Text-Self  :I can relate to Sadakos family going to visit sadako, because when my pop was in hospital we went to see him.

Reflect:

Some questions for this book.
Why did you choose to tell a real story?
The author should have put a bit more metaphors and similes in however,i really liked the language that she has used  has put in the book .

Review:

This book is a sad but heart warming book and Sadako has a lot of hope and she is very eager to fold thousand paper cranes so her wish comes true to get rid of her disease.

this book is a really good book so i recommend this spectacular book for everyone and i hope you've enjoyed reading my reflection on Sadako and the thousand paper cranes.
