The Goldseekers
The Goldseekers Summarising and Synthesising By Sophia Fenech
This book is about a nine year old girl called Miju and her bother Chung-Kai were kidnapped and taken away from their parents and now living in fear. They found themselves at a gold mine in Melbourne so they are struggling to work for money to try to get back with heir parents again.
Miju and Chung-Kai are on a mission to find another goldmine. On the way they meet up with an old friend of theirs and he gives Miju a little puppy called Ah-poo they find a cave to sleep in for the night and set off. In the morning they realise that they don't need Ah-poo any more so they give it back to their trusted friend.
Later their friend finds that Ah-poo has flakes of gold in his fur and he thinks that he could be rich but he thought that he must of got the gold from the cave. It was too greedy so he didn't and just decided with an old man who owned a shop nearby.
That is what the text is mainly about.
The Authors most important ideas were that they Miju and Chung-Kai are in a goldmine to get money to find their parents again.
REVIEW I thought that one page had a really good metaphor which was the night begins to spread its dark wings
I really liked how the author had Miju and Chung-Kai say hello in a different language which was Chinese because if you speak in this language you can have the chance to say "I know what that means."
