Once By Morris Gleitzman

Once By Morris Gleitzman

Blurb:

Everybody deserves to have
something good in their life.
         At least once.

Prediction:

I think that this story will be about how a Jewish boy who flees away to find his parents, but on the way he finds the Nazis and gets into more trouble.

Summary:

So far I have read that this boy has lived in an orphanage run by nuns and has been there for 3 years and 8 months the year is 1942. He has found a whole carrot in his soup and thinks it is a message from his parents which are Jewish booksellers and have left him there to be safe from the Nazis. He plans to flee from the orphanage and find his parents.

The next day her teacher gives her a box of magical coloured pastels. Holes By Louis Sachar- Jacob C

4 R's BY JACOB CACCIOLA

The book i've been reading is "Holes" by Louis Sachar.

RETELL

From what i have read up to, a boy named Stanley Yelnats. Who goes to a Boys Detention Centre called Camp Green Lake. Well... used to be a lake, now its just a dry landscape. All of the boys have to dig a hole each day in the sand, a big hole for their punishment.

RELATE

T-S- I have noticed that Stanley is Yelnats spelled backwards.
T-T- In "Girl Underground, by Morris Gleitzman, a boy and a girl trapped in a detention centre.

REFLECT

Has any of this happened in your life?
How did you come up with the name Stanley Yelnats?
Why did you choose to make his last name the same as his first name?

REVIEW

I recommend to read this book as Stanley has lots of adventures.
I rate it 8/10.

And his new teacher mrs Brisbane decides that anyone can take humphrey home for a week.
